Auf der APHA Convention 2018, die derzeit im texanischen Irving stattfindet, diskutieren die APHA Mitglieder erneut über Änderungen der bestehenden Regularien. Unter anderem werden eine Competion License für Solid Paint Greds vorgeschlagen, mit denen diese startberechtigt wären in regulären Paint-Klassen sowie eine Regel speziell für junge Reiter in Europa, die es ihnen erlauben soll, in Zukunft in den 13 & under-Klassen auch ältere Pferde zweihändig im Snaffle Bit bzw. Hackamore zu reiten.

5. März 2018: Die Entscheidungen von der APHA Convention 2018

Eingetragene Paint Horses benötigen auch weiterhin mindestens einen Paint Horse-Elternteil - das hat heute der APA-Vorstand entschieden und damit einen entsprechenden Regeländerungsantrag abgewiesen, der es einfarbigen Quarter Horses und Vollblütern ermöglichen wollte, als Paint eingetragen zu werden, wenn sie über ein entsprechendes Paint Pattern-Gen verfügen.

Dafür können auf APHA-Turnieren in Zukunft bunte und einfarbige Paint Horses class-in-class vorgestellt werden und dabei getrennt bewertet werden. Jugendliche Reiter bis zu einem Alter von 13 Jahren können jederzeit ihr Pferd zweihändig im Snaffle oder Bosal vorstellen, unabhängig vom Pferdealter, und die Richtverpflichtungen für europäische Richter wurden gelockert.

Einfarbige Quarter Horses als Paint Horse eintragen - das soll in Zukunft möglich sein, selbst wenn diese keine Paint Horse-Eltern haben. Die APHA-Direktoren haben eine n Antrag an den APHA-Vorstand auf den Weg gebracht, der einfarbige Quarter Horses und Vollblüter als Paint Horse registrierbar macht, sofern diese über eines der genetischen Paint pattern verfügen.
Als neue Turnierklassen könnten Ranch Rail Pleasure und Green Ranch Riding kommen, Regular Registry und Solid-Paint-Breds könnten zudem in Zukunft class-in-class starten.
